Historic Route 66
Travelers along the Mother Road can visit a confectionary converted to a winery, plus a number of Route 66 taverns including the Hi-Way Tavern, a recent Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame inductee. Route 66 had two alignments through the heart of Edwardsville, the most prominent following what is now Route 157.  Edwardsville has hosted a Route 66 Festival and car show on the second weekend of June since 1997.

St. Louis Street Historic District
Beautiful and diverse architecture from Georgian to Prairie styles have placed this neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. Walking tour guides are available at City Hall.

Leclaire Historic District
The charming former village of Leclaire, founded in 1890 as an experiment in cooperative living, is on the National Register of Historic Places. Leclaire Parkfest on the 3rd Sunday in October delights visitors with live music, festival food, artisans, exhibits and a used book sale at historic Leclaire Park. Walking tour guides are available at City Hall or at the Stephenson House.

The beautifully restored 1820 Stephenson House offers tours by costumed docents who represent the Stephenson family, their neighbors and servants.
