Edwardsville Restaurants
Edwardsville boasts plentiful and diverse restaurants, bars,
a brewery, and a winery to tempt visitors along this stretch of Route 66.
Coming into town from east to west you'll find:
Springers Creek Winery – Located at 817 Hillsboro Avenue, this charming stop once housed Halley's Cash Market, the first grocery store travelers arrived at coming into town from the east. In 2010, this building was inducted into the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame. Now, two historic buildings and two wine gardens welcome visitors. You may bring your own food – picnic baskets are welcome! www.springerscreekwinery.com
Once past the winery and continuing to the sharp turn to the right, after the turn you'll find a variety of establishments along Vandalia/Route 66.
The Hi-Way – On your right, located at 463 E. Vandalia, stands the historic Hi-Way Tavern and Cafe. Known as Neumann's Bar for many years, it changed ownership and was resurrected as The Hi-Way, a local dive bar and Route 66 attraction. The Hi-Way Tavern and its original owners, the Catalano Family, were inducted into the Illinois Route 66 Hall of Fame in 2014. www.facebook.com/TheHiWayTavern
At the intersection of Vandalia/Route 66 and Buchanan Street, you are going to have to make some choices. To the right and to the left in new retail developments and ahead just past the Edwardsville Library and City Park you'll find all of the following:

At the intersection of Vandalia/Route 66 and North Main Street, the historic redbrick Bohm Building stands on your right. This building has always held an eatery in its 100+ year history. The Bohm Building's current restaurant occupant is the award-winning Cleveland-Heath.
